"Above and Beyond" Award

Platinum Medallion Owners of Pleasant Meadows at The Barn

Throughout the year there are owners who take it upon themselves to lend a helping hand and do something unsolicited to improve the community.  These acts can take many forms.  Your HOA Board is starting what we hope will be a tradition of recognizing these individuals every six months.  Of course, once you begin to identify and thank folks for their actions to improve the community, you will likely miss someone worthy of the same recognition.  We apologize in advance if this occurs.  We welcome community members to bring us names of others who deserve a shoutout.  Without further ado, The Platinum Medallion Owners for January—June 2023 are:

Mike Appleby:   Mike setup, learned and then taught two HOA Treasures how to use Quicken--the accounting software to keep track of HOA revenues and expenses.  Each month he prepares financial spreadsheets by which owners can understand what fees are collected and funds expended against budgeted line items.  He established the HOA website and remains its administrator.    Mike also implemented a new work order system for better historical records of completed HOA projects and homeowner requests.

Rees Nielsen:  Rees repairs community light poles as well as lights at the North and South Gates along with his friend and former Pleasant Meadows resident, Marty.  He troubleshoots, rewires, and replaces sensors and lightbulbs as needed.  Rees does not charge for his labor and has been doing this for many years.  Rees has saved the HOA a lot of money over the years.

Tim Puls:  Tim owns Advanced Plumbing & Mechanical.  In February he sent a two-man crew to provide the HOA with a second opinion about the blocked sewer line on Jenny Lane.  They scoped a portion of the line, took depth measurements every 6-8 feet to calculate its slope, and located and marked sewer lines from several homes to the mainline.  After analyzing the information, a company representative called the HOA president with his recommendation that factored significantly into what steps the HOA took to remedy the situation.  Tim did not charge the HOA for this service.

Brad Russell:   Brad pruned trees, cleaned up the landscaping around the North Gate, and hauled away community yard waste for deposal.  He is repairing the North Gate that is slowly falling apart as numerous welds across the length of structure are breaking.  He is cleaning and then welding broken joints and once done will repaint the entire gate.  He has devoted many hours to fixing and maintaining the south irrigation pump that serves all homes south of #30.

Larry Wasson:  Larry along with his granddaughter cleaned out the flower bed at the end of the 12th tee box.  He then bought and spread black mulch throughout the area.  What a great improvement to the visual appeal of an area so frequently passed by all who enter the South Gate.
